NOTE: During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below

1. Parking brake lever
- Different version for rear drum and rear disc brakes
2. Hand grip
- Pull down locating tab under hand-grip and pull forward to remove
3. Adjusting nut
4. Lock nut
5. Compensator
6. Parking brake lever trim
- First pull off hand grip (2), then pull trim forward
7. Hex nut
8. Parking brake cable
- Different versions for rear drum and rear disc brakes

Procedures

- The parking brake cable is secured by clamps to the axle beam in the center of the two colored marks

- Pry up handbrake cable trim with a screwdriver and pull grip and trim off forwards





Fig 3 Center Console Removal
- Remove rear ashtray (center Console)
- Remove console rear securing screws (arrows)



Removal
1. Remove center console.
2. Pull out screw covers and remove hex-head screws from center console.
3. Pull out and disconnect rear lid opening connector.
4. Pull center console cover to the rear and off.
5. Remove hex nuts near shift lever.
6. Remove phillips-head screws from front sides of center console.
7. Lift rear end of console slightly and remove from instrument panel.
