Vehicles with the protective coating have a green label on the windshield. The coating can be easily removed with the specific bio-degradable removal solution provided with the vehicle.

CAUTION
Before using any chemicals or cleaning compounds, carefully read all of the cautions and medical information on the container. Always follow all of the manufacturer's recommendations.

A container of coating remover is placed in the trunk of each vehicle. Be sure to use this product. Kats or other products are not effective on this coating. Additional coating remover can be ordered using Part No. 176 050 101B.

Note
We recommend that you do not remove the protective coating until the vehicle is sold, used as a demonstrator or displayed in your dealership.

CAUTION
Part numbers are for reference only. Always check with your Parts Department for latest information.

CAUTION
Read all cautions and medical information on the transportation coating remover bottle prior to starting work.

Wear safety glasses, rubber gloves, rubber apron and boots when working with the transportation coating remover.

IMPORTANT
Remove the coating only when the vehicle is as close to room temperature as possible.

Note
In winter climates, all snow and ice must be removed and the vehicle must be near room temperature prior to applying remover solution.

In warmer climates, it may be necessary to cool the vehicle's surface by rinsing it with water prior to applying remover solution

Removal Sequence

^ dilute 1-part removal solution with 8-parts water

^ mix water and remover solution thoroughly

Note
When vehicles are coated with a thicker than normal transit coating, removal solution can be used in concentrations up to 1-part remover to 4-parts water.

^ pre-rinse vehicle with water to remove dirt and debris

^ using a garden hand pump sprayer, apply applications of removal solution

Note
Using a garden type sprayer is best. Applying removal solution by other methods may not yield satisfactory results.

WARNING
D0 NOT allow removal solution to dry on the car. Drying coating resets and removal solution needs to be re-applied.

^ rinse vehicle with water

^ apply another complete application of removal solution to entire vehicle

^ using a clean wet washing mitt or soft cloth, hand wash vehicle

^ Do NOT allow removal solution to dry, apply as needed during hand washing

^ thoroughly rinse vehicle with clean water to remove coating and remover solution

^ using towel or chamois, wipe vehicle dry to prevent water spots

^ if necessary repeat removal procedure until protective coating is completely removed

^ inspect vehicle for coating not removed, apply a small amount of remover solution to unremoved coating, then wipe area with a clean dry cloth

^ DO NOT use sharp instruments or steel wool to remove dried accumulations of acrylic

Note
If, after removing the coating, a dull or hazy finish is left, polish the painted surface with a polishing compound such as "Crystal Shine" by Car Brite or equivalent and then hand wax using a good quality wax.
