The intake air temperature sensor, which is located in the CO Potentiometer, is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistor. This means that as the temperature of the sensor increases, its resistance value decreases. The signal it supplies to the control unit is used to modify the air/fuel ratio depending on the temperature of the incoming air.
