Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) - Charts

^ Listed in these charts are all the possible transmission DTC codes that can be recognized by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217) and displayed by the VAG 1551 Scan Tool.

^ If malfunctions occur only occasionally or if the DTC memory was not erased after elimination of the malfunction, it will be displayed as a sporadically occurring malfunction. Sporadic malfunctions are shown with an "SP/" at the right side of the display.

^ If malfunctioning components are found, also check the wiring to the components for short or open circuits using the wring diagram.

^ Also, when text in the Corrective Steps refers to a test step number,

This is refering to the electrical test number located in Electrical Testing section.
