Rollover Valve: Testing and Inspection

Rollover/Gravity Valve (typical):

The rollover (gravity) valve is located in the trunk, near the fuel filler neck and vents fuel tank vapors to the charcoal canister. It is designed to allow fuel flow in only one direction. This one-way operation prevents raw fuel from flowing out of the fuel tank into the charcoal canister in the event of a vehicle rollover.

Rollover/Gravity Valve (typical):

TESTING
1. Remove the valve.
2. Hold the valve level and blow air through the inlet, air should pass freely.
3. Tilt the valve 45 or more degrees and blow air through the inlet, air should not pass.
4. If the valve fails either test replace it.

NOTE: Always install valve with the word "OBEN" facing up.
