Airbag handling precautions
Precautions must be followed when handling airbag system components in addition to those covered by the repair manual Microfiche.
Cleaning of vehicle interior, after airbag deployment.
WARNING
Avoid skin irritation by powder residues (consisting mainly of baking soda, soda and corn starch) when cleaning vehicle interiors.
The following safety precautions must be employed:
^ Always wear safety glasses
^ Always wear rubber gloves
^ Insure that powder residues do not contact eyes
Clean interior (instrument panel, windows, trim panel, seats and carpet) with a wet towel.
Disposing of airbag equipped vehicles
Should it become necessary to dispose of a vehicle, the airbag must be deployed prior to vehicle disposal.
No special clean up or disposal of deployed air bag components is required.
