Electrical Test chart, used during VAG 1551 testing

Note

The following Electrical Tests are designed to accompany VAG 1551 troubleshooting procedures. Perform only those US 1119 multimeter test steps which are referenced in the VAG 1551 charts. Do not substitute these Electrical Tests for other VAG 1551 steps. All VAG 1551 test steps must be performed, as required.

Specification values in the following Electrical Test chart are determined by US 1119 multimeter readings. These values are not guaranteed accurate for other testing devices.


Multimeter US 1119 setting: 20 k Ohm scale

1 Left deceleration ^ disconnect 3-point Replace left
sensor (G104) for connector from left deceleration sensor
airbag. deceleration sensor (G104).
^ measure resistance
between:
^ terminals 1 and 2 10 k Ohms
^ terminals 2 and 3 0 k Ohms

2 Right deceleration ^ disconnect 3-point Replace right
sensor (G105) for connector from right deceleration sensor
airbag. deceleration sensor (G105).
^ measure resistance
between:
^ terminals 1 and 2 10 k Ohms
^ terminals 2 and 3 0 k Ohms
