To simplify the method of quickly and safely connecting the VAG 1367 Engine Tester to the ignition coil on California Digifant I vehicles, a new adapter was developed. Inductive Pickup Adapter VAG 1367/8 obtains the necessary ignition coil signal for proper operation of VAG 1367 and is now considered minimum requirement for California dealers. When using the adapter VAG 1367/8, the ignition coil signal can be easily obtained by clamping the adapter over the high tension wire between the coil and distributor. This non-destructive pickup eliminates damage to coil contacts, connector housings and protective flaps that are indicative of current hookup methods.

Every participating California Volkswagen dealer in the Automatic Supply program will be shipped one VAG 1367/8 Inductive Pickup Adapter, freight prepaid. Shipments are anticipated to commence the week of April 08, 1991, and conclude the following week. Should you decide not to receive the VAG 1367/8 by Automatic shipment, please notify your Zone/Distributor Service Department before April 01, 1991.
