Frequency Valve: Testing and Inspection
1. Ensure fuse No. 5 is in satisfactory working condition, then connect remote control tool No. VW 1348/3A or equivalent, to disconnected electrical connector of control pressure regulator and battery positive (+).2. Activate remote control. Frequency valve must make an audible click sound.
3. If valve does not click, switch multimeter tool No. US 1119 or equivalent, to resistance range, then disconnect frequency valve electrical connector and measure resistance of valve. Must be 2--3 ohms.
4. If resistance value is not obtained, replace frequency valve.
5. If resistance value is obtained, connect LED tester tool No. US 1115 or equivalent, between terminals of frequency valve electrical connector and activate remote control. Tester must light.
6. If tester does not light, check supply voltage to frequency valve.
7. If supply voltage is satisfactory, replace control unit.
