Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair

Work Sequence

- Disconnect battery ground strap.

- Remove steering wheel.





- Remove screws 1 and pull off center trim in direction of arrow.

- Disconnect wire of cigarette lighter 2.





- Remove phillips screw (arrows) and pull passenger side trim out of clip A.





- Remove phillips screws (arrows) and pull driver side trim out of clip B.





- Lever switch trim F off by using suitable plastic tool.

- Detach shelf.

- Pull off heater and fresh air control knobs, press out trim and remove controls.





- Remove phillips screws (arrows) and pull instrument panel trim off slightly.

- Disconnect all connections from switches and control lights.

- Removal instrument panel trim.





- Separate wiring harness 3 from instrument panel and disconnect connections from ground strip 4.





- Remove phillips screw (arrows) and pull instrument cluster off.





- Press retaining lugs together (arrows) and pull speedometer cable from instrument cluster.

- Press out fresh air vents.





- Remove phillips screws 5 at left and right of instrument panel.

- Remove phillips screws (arrows).

- Remove A-pillar trim G.





- Remove two nuts (arrow) from plenum chamber.





- Remove instrument panel.

° Arrows indicate securing points for instrument panel onto body.

Instrument Panel, Installing

Proceed in reverse order of removing and note following:

- Make sure that sealing washers 6 between instrument panel and body are in correct position before installing instrument panel.
