A longer bolt is available for repair of the rear subframe mounting on Golf/Jetta vehicles. Repair damaged threads in the body member and install the new bolt as follows:
Subframe mounting, repairing
Work sequence
- support engine/transmission with 10-222A
- remove subframe
- drill through cap nut in body member with 10.2 mm drill
Note
Maintain proper alignment and do not tilt drill when drilling.
WARNING
Wear protective goggles.
- cut new M12 x 1.5 thread in cap nut
CAUTION Always use sleeve, Part No. 191 407 190A, when installing bolt.
- install subframe using new 90 mm long shouldered bolt, Part No. N 101 030.01
^ tightening torque: 130 N-m (95 ft..lbs.)
