Cold Start Injector: Testing and Inspection
1. Ensure that engine temperature is below 86°F.
2. Disconnect coil wire from distributor and connect to ground.
3. Connect voltmeter across connector terminals.
4. Crank starter for ten seconds. If voltmeter does not read at least 8 volts, replace cold start valve. Disconnect voltmeter.
5. Remove cold start valve, leaving electrical connector and fuel line connected, and point nozzle into suitable container.
6. Crank starter for 10 seconds. Cold start valve must spray steadily with cone shape pattern.
7. Wipe nozzle dry with clean rag. No drops should be noticeable for at least 1 minute.
8. If spray pattern is incorrect or leakage is present, replace cold start valve.
