Drive plate, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment
- 34Q6 or T1 0069 retainer
- VAG1332 torque wrench (40 to 200 Nm)
- VAG1601 torque wrench (150 to 800 Nm)
- Depth gauge
- Assisting ruler
Removing
- Secure harmonic balancer using 3406 or T10069 retainer.
- Loosen and remove securing bolts of drive plate in diagonal sequence.
- Remove drive plate.
Installing
- Set drive plate onto crankshaft.
- Insert at least 3 old securing bolts and tighten to 30 Nm.
- measure dimension -a- via 3 holes for converter securing via assisting ruler and depth measurement and calculate mean value.
- Compare specified values to mean value (measured distance + ruler thickness). Specification: 15.7 to 16.5 mm
If specified value is exceeded:
- Remove drive plate again and use appropriate shim -1-.
Note: Only a shim of appropriate thickness may be used for compensation.
If specified value is not obtained:
- Insert new securing bolts and hand tighten.
- Tighten securing bolts to 60 Nm plus 90 ° (1/4 turn) (additional rotation can occur in several stages).
