Air Cleaner, Disassembling and Assembling
1 - Filter element
2 - Vacuum pressure connection
3 - Air cleaner, upper portion
4 - Seal
- Replace if damaged
5 - Intake hose
6 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor -G70-* with Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (G42)*
- Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
7 - Vacuum hose
- For crankcase ventilation
8 - Intake hose
- For crankcase ventilation
- From cylinder head
9 - Connection - sleeve/Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79-
- For crankcase ventilation
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79- only for certain countries
- See Fig 1 given below
- Resistance at ambient temperature (approx. 25 °C)
Specification: 7 to 12 Ohms
10 - Intake hose
- Check for secure fitting
11 - Spring clip
12 - To connection sleeve at cylinder head
- For air cleaning fuel injectors
13 - Intake hose
- Check for secure fitting
- To Secondary Air Injection pump motor (V101)
14 - 10 Nm
15 - Air cleaner, lower portion

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79- has the following resistance at ambient temperature (approx. 25 °C): Specification: 7 to 12 Ohms
Check to voltage supply:
- Mark connector -1- (danger of mix-up).
- Disconnect 2-pin connector and measure at connector terminal 1 + 2 with ignition switched on Specification: at least 11.5 volts
If specified value is obtained:
- Check wire connection from terminal 1 to Fuel Pump (FP) relay -J17- according to wiring diagram.
