Coolant pump, removing and installing

Special tools and equipment





- VAG1331 torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm)





- VAG1306 drip tray
- Drift

Removing

- Remove ribbed belt.
- Drain coolant.





- Unbolt mounting bolts of coolant pump through holes in belt pulley and remove coolant pump.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:
- Replace O-ring of coolant pump.
- Install ribbed belt.
- Top up coolant.

Tightening torques

Threaded Connection Torque

Coolant Pump to Cylinder Block 20 Nm

Belt Pulley to Coolant Pump 25 Nm

Drain Plug in Coolant Line 10 Nm
