Gear oil in final drive, checking
Oil level is checked with transmission installed


Special tools and equipment





^ VAG 1331 Torque wrench

Checking on vehicles up to 12.95:





^ Remove bolt for checking oil -arrow- through hole in assembly mount.
^ Top off gear oil to lower edge of hole.

Checking on vehicles from 01.96:





^ Remove plug -arrow- to check gear oil level and top gear oil off to lower edge of hole.

Continued for all vehicles
The oil level is correct when the transmission is full to the lower edge of the filler hole.

^ Install plug (arrow).
