Clutch/Brake Application Table


NOTE: The illustration is from automatic transmission 01M. The application of transmission 01P selector elements is identical.

Position Of Selector Elements Within Transaxle





1 = 2nd and 4th gear brake -B2-
2 = Reverse gear clutch -K2-
3 = 1st to 3rd gear clutch -K1 -
4 = 4th gear clutch -K3-
5 = Reverse gear brake -B1 -
6 = Free wheel clutch -F-
7 = Lock-up clutch integrated in torque converter -LC-

NOTE: Before starting repairs to the transmission, first perform the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program.

Selector Element Application Table





The above table shows which selector elements are operated in the individual gears. This can help you deal with complaints regarding poor performance or with drive train malfunctions in general. The table makes it possible to determine which gear selector elements are not operating properly.

All gears will be shifted hydraulically.

All forward gears are driven mechanically at a predetermined load and speed via the torque converter lock-up clutch.
