SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR (for Front Side): REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD Removal

5. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

6. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH Removal

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG Disassembly

9. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Driver Side) Disassembly

10. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Front Passenger Side) Disassembly

11. REMOVE DOOR ARMREST COVER Disassembly

12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

13. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Disconnect the connector from the door side airbag sensor.





NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(1) Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

(2) Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

NOTICE:
Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting.

(d) Remove the bolt and door side airbag sensor from the front door panel.





NOTICE:
Loosen the bolt while holding the door side airbag sensor because the door side airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.

(e) After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the white housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.
