U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
Before installing the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

(a) Pass the transmission control cable assembly from the cabin to the engine compartment.

(b) Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(c) Install the dash panel insulator to the original position.

(d) Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

(e) Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

Torque : 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

(f) Connect the wire harness clamp.

(g) Engage the 2 claws to connect the transmission control cable assembly.

(h) Slide the slider of the transmission control cable in the direction indicated by the arrow and pull the lock piece outward.

(i) Install the transmission control cable end to the lower shift lever assembly.

NOTICE:
* Check that the lock piece is pulled up.
* Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.

(j) Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

NOTICE:
* Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.
* Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

2. CONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt and nut.

Bolt - Torque : 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

(b) Install the floor carpet to the original position.

11. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION Adjustments
