U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Pass the control cable from the cabin to the engine compartment.





(b) Install the 2 bolts.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(c) Move the shift lever to N.

(d) Install the transmission control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.





HINT
* Install the floor shift cable with the uneven surface facing up.
* Securely engage the claws of the floor shift cable.
(e) Pull back the boot of the transmission control cable assembly.

(f) Move the slider in the direction indicated by arrow A and pull up the lock piece in the direction indicated by arrow B.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the boot.

(g) Connect the control cable to the bracket with a new clip.





(h) Install the control cable to the control shaft lever with the nut.





Torque : 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

(i) Push in the lock piece of the transmission control cable.





NOTICE:
Firmly push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

(j) Refit the boot to the transmission control cable assembly.
