HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.
2. POSITION FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
3. REMOVE STEERING PAD
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback)
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Hatchback)
7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Sedan)
8. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE
9. REMOVE WIPER SWITCH
a. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
b. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the wiper switch.
NOTE: Do not press the claw too hard, as it may be damaged.
10. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the headlight dimmer switch, as shown in the illustration.
c. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the headlight dimmer switch.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
a. Engage the 2 claws and install the headlight dimmer switch, as shown in the illustration.
b. Install the headlight dimmer switch with the clamp.
c. Connect the connector.
2. INSTALL WIPER SWITCH
a. Engage the claw and install the windshield wiper switch.
b. Connect the 2 connectors.
3. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE
4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Hatchback)
5. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Sedan)
6. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE
7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback)
8. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)
9. INSTALL STEERING PAD
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
