Cigarette Lighter: Service and Repair

Cigarette Lighter Assembly (for Sedan):

CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER
3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
4. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER FRONT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY




6. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER KNOB
a. Remove the cigarette lighter knob.




7. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER COVER
a. Using a screwdriver disengage the claw then turn the cigarette lighter socket counterclockwise and push the cigarette lighter socket half way out.




b. Align the protrusion of the cigarette lighter socket with the cutout of the cigarette lighter indicator lens and then push out the cigarette lighter socket.




c. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cigarette lighter cover.




8. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER INDICATOR LENS
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cigarette lighter indicator lens.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL CIGARETTE LIGHTER INDICATOR LENS
a. Engage the 2 claws and install a new cigarette lighter indicator lens.

2. INSTALL CIGARETTE LIGHTER COVER




a. Engage the 2 claws and install the cigarette lighter cover.




b. Align the protrusion of the cigarette lighter socket with the cutout of the cigarette lighter indicator lens and install the cigarette lighter socket.
c. Securely engage the claw.




3. INSTALL CIGARETTE LIGHTER KNOB
a. Install the cigarette lighter knob.

4. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER FRONT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB (for Manual Transaxle)
7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER CENTER PANEL
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
