REMOVAL

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

NOTICE: Always use "Torx" socket wrench E10 when removing the front seat.

HINT: The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the driver and front passenger sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag).





2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
a. Push in the lock button of the front seat headrest support and remove the front seat headrest.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY





a. for Driver Side:
1. Using a clip remover, remove the clamp.
2. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

3. Disconnect the buckle switch connector.





b. for Front Passenger Side:
1. Using a clip remover, remove the clamp.
2. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

3. Disconnect the buckle switch connector.
4. Disconnect the occupant detection ECU connector.





c. Move the front seat to its most rearward position.
d. Using "Torx" socket wrench E10, remove the 2 bolts from the front side.
e. Move the front seat to its most forward position.
f. Using "Torx" socket wrench E10, remove the 2 bolts from the rear side.
g. Remove the front seat.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag).

NOTICE: Always use "Torx" socket wrench E10 when installing the front seat.

HINT: The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides, unless otherwise specified.





1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE: Follow the procedure described below in order to prevent the seat tracks from locking separately.

a. Insert the 2 locating pins through the 2 body holes, place the front seat in the most forward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely.
b. Using "Torx" socket wrench E10, tighten bolt 1 and then bolt 2 on the rear side.

Torque: 37 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

c. Move the front seat to the most rearward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely.
d. Using "Torx" socket wrench E10, tighten bolt 3 and then bolt 4 on the front side.

Torque: 37 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

HINT: If the inner and outer seat tracks do not lock simultaneously, loosen the bolts and adjust the seat tracks.





e. for Driver Side:
1. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Connect the airbag connector.

2. Connect the buckle switch connector.
3. Install the clamp.





f. for Front Passenger Side:
1. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Connect the airbag connector.

2. Connect the buckle switch connector.
3. Connect the occupant detection ECU connector.
4. Install the clamp.





2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
a. Push in the lock button of the front seat headrest support and install the front seat headrest.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
