Front Seat Assembly (For Hatchback)
DISASSEMBLYCAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp surfaces on the front seat adjuster frame could cause injuries to your hands.
HINT: The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides, unless otherwise specified.
1. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE
a. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield.
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD
a. Remove the front seatback cover band.
b. for Clip Type:
1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
c. for J Hook Type:
1. Disengage the 2 hooks.
d. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Remove the hook tape from the front seat cushion cover pad fixing cover.
e. Disengage the 2 claws and 9 hooks, and remove the front seat cushion cover pad.
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
a. Remove the 3 hog rings shown in the illustration.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support.
HINT: Use the same procedure for both sides.
7. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER (for Walk in Seat Type)
a. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.
8. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL (for Walk in Seat Type)
a. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the reclining remote control lever bezel.
9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER PAD
a. Remove the front seatback cover pad.
10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
a. Remove the airbag connector and the 3 clamps.
b. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clamps.
c. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag.
11. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.
12. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
13. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH
a. Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster outside cover.
14. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.
16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Disengage the claw and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.
17. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side)
a. Disengage the pin and remove the seat position sensor protector.
b. Using "Torx" socket wrench T30, remove the bolt and the seat position sensor.
18. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Disconnect the 5 connectors.
b. Remove the 2 clamps and the front seat wire.
19. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Disengage the claw and remove the occupant classification ECU.
REASSEMBLY

HINT: The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides, unless otherwise specified.
1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side)
a. Provisionally install the seat position sensor.
NOTICE:
- If the seat position sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.
- When installing the seat position sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
b. Install a 1 mm (0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the seat rail and seat position sensor, as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is within 0.6 to 2 mm (0.023 to 0.079 in.).
c. Push the top of the seat position sensor toward the seat rail.
d. While holding the seat position sensor, tighten the seat position sensor using "Torx" socket wrench T30.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (70 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
e. Engage the pin and install a new seat position sensor protector.
NOTICE: Do not damage portion A, shown in the illustration, when installing the seat position sensor protector.
2. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Engage the claw and install the occupant classification ECU.
3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Install the front seat wire with the 2 clamps.
b. Connect the 5 connectors.
4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH
a. Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH
a. Engage the claw and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
b. Tighten the screw.
6. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH
a. Install the reclining adjuster outside cover with the screw.
7. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
8. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
a. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster inside cover.
b. Tighten the screw.
9. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
a. Install the front seat side airbag with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
b. Install the 2 clamps.
c. Install the 3 clamps and the airbag connector.
11. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER PAD
a. Install the front seatback cover pad.
NOTICE: The fabric for fixing the airbag must mot be wrinkled when installing the front seatback cover pad (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag).
b. Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings as shown in the illustration.
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
HINT: Use the same procedure for both sides.
a. Align the protruding portion of the front seat headrest support with the installation groove of the front seat back frame.
b. Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat headrest support.
13. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL (for Walk in Seat Type)
a. Engage the 5 claws and install the reclining remote control lever bezel.
14. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER (for Walk in Seat Type)
a. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle.
15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD
a. Engage the 2 claws and 9 hooks, and install the front seat cushion cover pad.
b. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
1. Fix the front seat side airbag wire harness with the front seat cushion cover pad fixing cover.
c. for Clip Type:
1. Install the 2 clips.
d. for J Hook Type:
1. Engage the 2 hooks.
e. Install the front seatback cover band.
16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH
a. Engage the claw and the clip and install the front seat cushion shield.
b. Tighten the screw.
17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
18. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
a. Engage the 2 claws and the clip and install the front seat cushion shield.
b. Tighten the screw.
19. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE
a. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle.
