REMOVAL

HINT: Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

1. BOLTS, SCREWS AND NUTS TABLE

HINT: All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown, along with their alphabetic codes, in the table below.

Lower Instrument Panel (For Hatchback):





2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANE
6. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
8. REMOVE RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER (w/o Radio Receiver)
9. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. DISCONNECT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
12. DISCONNECT DEFROSTER DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
13. DISCONNECT AIR INLET DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
16. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
17. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
18. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
19. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
20. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
25. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
26. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH





27. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Remove the shift lever knob.





28. REMOVE SHIFTING HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the shifting hole cover.





29. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REAR COVER
a. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console box rear cover.





30. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
a. Remove the console box carpet.





31. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY REAR
a. Remove bolt .
b. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the console box rear.

32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER





a. Disengage the 7 claws and open the instrument panel finish panel lower.





b. Remove the 2 screws and the instrument panel finish panel lower.





33. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Open the instrument panel box.
b. Pull the hinge side of the instrument panel box out horizontally with the instrument panel open and disengage the 2 hinges.
c. Remove the stopper of the instrument panel box from the cutout of the instrument panel lower and remove the instrument panel box.





34. REMOVE NO. 6 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the heater to register duct.





35. DISCONNECT ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 antenna cord clamps.





36. SEPARATE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 3 claws and separate the hood lock control lever.





37. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.
b. Disconnect the clamps and connectors.
c. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 bolts, screw and screw and remove the lower instrument panel.





38. REMOVE POWER OUTLET SOCKET ASSEMBLY
39. REMOVE POWER OUTLET SOCKET COVER





40. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the outer mirror switch.





41. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the light control rheostat.





42. REMOVE FRONT PANEL SEAL
a. Remove the front panel seal.





43. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX SPRING
a. Remove screw
and the instrument panel box spring.





44. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Remove the 2
screws and the instrument panel box.





45. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Remove the 2
screws and the instrument panel box.





46. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SEAL
a. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the panel seal.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SEAL
a. Engage the 5 claws and install the panel seal.





2. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Install the instrument panel box with the 2
screws.





3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Install the instrument panel box with the 2
screws.





4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX SPRING
a. Install the instrument panel box spring with screw
.





5. INSTALL FRONT PANEL SEAL
a. Install the front panel seal.





6. INSTALL LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
a. Engage the 2 claws and install the light control rheostat.





7. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 2 claws and install the outer mirror switch.

8. INSTALL POWER OUTLET SOCKET COVER
9. INSTALL POWER OUTLET SOCKET ASSEMBLY





10. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a nipper, cut off both ends of the runner portion shown in the illustration (When installing a new one).
b. Apply butyl tape to install a new instrument panel pad lower onto the instrument panel lower (When installing a new one).

Adhesive:
Part No. 08850-00065, Butyl Tape Set or the equivalent

c. Install the lower instrument panel with the 5 bolts, 2 bolts, screw and screw .

NOTICE: Do not excessively tighten the bolts, otherwise, it may damage the area not being tightened.

d. Connect the clamps and connectors.









e. Engage the 2 claws to connect the DLC3 connector.





11. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 3 claws to connect the control lever.





12. CONNECT ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the 2 antenna cord clamps.





13. INSTALL NO. 6 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 4 claws and install the heater to register duct.





14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Insert the stopper of the instrument panel box from the cutout of the instrument panel lower.
b. Engage the hinges with the instrument panel open.
c. Close the instrument panel box.

15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER





a. Install the 2
screws.





b. Engage the 7 claws and install the instrument panel finish panel lower.





16. INSTALL
CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY REAR
a. Engage the 2 clips and install the console box rear.
b. Install bolt .





17. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET
a. Install the console box carpet.





18. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REAR COVER
a. Engage the 8 claws and install the console box rear cover.





19. INSTALL SHIFTING HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Engage the 6 claws and install the shifting hole cover.





20. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Install the shift lever knob.

23. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
24. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
25. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
26. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
27. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
28. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
29. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

34. CONNECT AIR INLET DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
35. CONNECT DEFROSTER DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
36. CONNECT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
37. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
38. INSTALL RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER (w/o Radio Receiver)
39. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
40. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
41. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
42. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

45. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
