BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

NOTICE: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE ABS MOTOR RELAY





(a) Remove the 2 ABS motor relays with the power switch off.
2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
3. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash or remove it completely.

4. DISCONNECT REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE





(a) Remove the bolt and separate the rear brake flexible hose from the shock absorber.





(b) Remove the union bolt and the gasket from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly, then disconnect the rear brake flexible hose.
5. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY





(a) Hold the 2 rear disc brake cylinder slide pins and remove the 2 bolts and rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
