INTRODUCTION:

In some instances where the customer experiences no sound from the vehicles' audio system, the root cause may be the trunk lid torsion bar coming out of its retaining clip and grounding the rear speaker when the trunk is closed. Use the following repair procedure to address this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2007 model year Camry vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

NOTE:
The underlined digit in the VIN is the assembly line identifier for TMMK vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:







1. Install new torsion bar support clamp and apply electrical (vinyl) tape to the torsion bar spring in the area shown in the illustration.
2. Check audio system operation.
If there is still NO sound from the audio system, diagnose the audio system.
