Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
VSV FOR INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE1. REMOVE FUEL TANK
2. REMOVE VSV
a. Disconnect the 3 vacuum hoses from the VSV.
b. Disconnect the connector from VSV.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and VSV from the charcoal canister.
3. INSPECT VSV FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.
Resistance: 33 - 39 Ohm at 20 °C (68 °F)
If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.
4. INSPECT VSV FOR GROUND
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between the each terminal and the body.
If there is continuity, replace the VSV.
5. INSPECT VSV OPERATION
a. Check that air flows from ports E to F.
b. Apply battery positive voltage across the terminals.
c. Check that air does not flow from ports G to F.
If operation is not as specified, replace the VSV.
6. REINSTALL VSV
7. REINSTALL FUEL TANK
