Input Signal Check (Test Mode)

INPUT SIGNAL CHECK (TEST MODE)




a. In case of not using TOYOTA hand-held tester:
Check the input signal.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Using SST, connect terminals Ts and CG of the DLC3.

3. Start the engine.

4. Check that the P/S warning light goes on.

HINT: If the P/S warning light does not go on, inspect the P/S warning light circuit.

5. Drive vehicle straight forward at the speed faster than 20 km/h (12 mph) for several seconds.
6. Stop the vehicle.




7. Using SST, connect terminals Tc and CG of the DLC3.

8. Read the number of blinks of the P/S warning light.






HINT:
- See the list of DTC shown.
- Even a sensor is normal, it outputs code 72 during test mode.
- Whether or not the sensor is normal can be judged if the warning light goes off during driving.
- After doing the check, disconnect the SST from terminals Ts, Tc and CG of the DLC3, and turn the ignition switch OFF.

b. In case of using TOYOTA hand-held tester:
Check the input signal.

1. Hook up the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Do steps (3) to (6).
3. Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen.
