CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Condition:

The ECM determines the cruise control operating (ON/OFF) and electrical road from those signal of the cruise control switch, throttle opening angle and vehicle speed, etc.

The ECM uses the information to control the engine condition (ETCS, etc.).

If there is malfunction in the ECM, the ECM prohibits the cruise control operation and indicates CRUISE light in the combination meter.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT: Read freeze frame data using TOYOTA hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool, as freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine was warmed up or not, the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, etc. at the time of the malfunction.

Replace ECM.
