CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Condition:

Transmission control ECU uses the NE signal to determine the engine speed and permit the gear position.

The transmission control ECU receives engine speed from the NE circuit. If open or short is detected in the NEO circuit, the transmission control ECU judges the circuit is in malfunction and records DTC P0335 in the transmission control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT: Read freeze frame data using TOYOTA hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool, as freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine was warmed up or not, etc. at the time of the malfunction.
