Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1.050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
2. DISCONNECT FLEXIBLE HOSE
a. Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets from the caliper, then disconnect the flexible hose from the caliper.
Torque: 29 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
HINT: At the time of installation, insert the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the caliper.
b. Use a container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out.
3. TMMK made: REMOVE 2 SLIDE PINS
Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.)
4. TMC made: REMOVE SLIDE PIN
Torque: 34 Nm (340 kgf-cm, 25 ft. lbs.)
5. REMOVE CALIPER FROM TORQUE PLATE
6. TMMK made: REMOVE 2 BRAKE PADS WITH 4 ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS
7. TMC made: REMOVE 2 BRAKE PADS WITH 2 ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS
8. REMOVE PAD WEAR INDICATOR
9. REMOVE 4 PAD SUPPORT PLATES
NOTICE: At the time of installation, there should be no oil or grease adhering to the friction surfaces of the pads or disc.
10. TMC made: REMOVE MAIN PIN
Using a hexagon wench, remove the main pin.
Torque: 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 49 ft. lbs.)
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
HINT:
^ After installation, fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
^ Check for leaks.
