Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair
ON-VEHICLE REPAIR1. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE FROM ENGINE
Disconnect the cable from the throttle linkage.
2. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH. Refer To Transmission Position Switch/Sensor; Service and Repair.
3. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG AND DRAIN ATF
4. REMOVE VALVE BODY. Refer to Valve Body; Service and Repair.
5. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE
a. Remove the retaining bolt and plate.
b. Pull out the cable from the transaxle case.
6. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE
If the throttle cable is new, perform the following operations a - c.
a. Bend the cable so that there is radius of about 200 mm (7.87 inch).
b. Pull the inner cable lightly until the resistance is slightly felt, and hold it there.
c. Stake the stopper, 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch) from the end of the outer cable.
d. Install a new O-ring to the throttle cable.
e. Pull in the throttle cable and install the retaining bolt.
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.)
7. INSTALL VALVE BODY
8. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
9. CONNECT THROTTLE CABLE TO ENGINE
10. INSTALL DRAIN PLUG
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)
11. FILL ATF AND CHECK FLUID LEVEL. Refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle; Testing and Inspection; Procedures Troubleshooting.
12. ADJUST THROTTLE CABLE
