Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

INSPECT IGNITION COIL




a. Disconnect the high-tension cords from the ignition coil.
b. Using an ohmmeter, measure the secondary coil resistance between the positive (+) and high-tension terminals.

Secondary coil resistance:
Cold: 9.7- 16.7 kOhm
Hot: 12.4-19.6 kOhm
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.

c. Connect the high-tension cords from the ignition coils.
