Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair
ON-VEHICLE REPAIR1. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE
2. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH.
3. REMOVE VALVE BODY.
4. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE
a. Remove the retaining bolt and plate.
b. Pull out the cable from the transaxle case.
5. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE
If the throttle cable is new, perform the following operations (a)-(c).
a. Bent the cable so that there is a radius of about 200 mm (7.87 inch).
b. Pull the inner cable lightly until the resistance is slightly felt, and hold it there.
c. Stake the stopper, 0.8-1.5mm (0.031-0.059 inch) from the end of the outer cable.
d. Install a new O-ring to the throttle cable.
e. Insert the throttle cable in the transaxle case and install the retaining plate and bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
6. INSTALL VALVE BODY
7. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
8. CONNECT THROTTLE CABLE
9. FILL ATF AND CHECK FLUID LEVEL
10. ADJUST THROTTLE CABLE
