EGR Valve: Service and Repair

COMPONENTS FOR EGR VALVE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
EGR VALVE REMOVAL
1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE AND CAP

(See cylinder head removal)

2. REMOVE EGR VALVE
- Disconnect the following hoses and connector:
- Vacuum hose
- EGR hose
- EGR gas temp. sensor connector
- Remove the 2 nuts, EGR valve and gasket.

Torque: 13 N.m (130 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)

INSTALLATION HINT: Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.





EGR VALVE INSPECTION
INSPECT EGR VALVE
- Check for sticking and heavy carbon deposits.
- If a problem is found, replace the valve.

EGR VALVE INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
