REPAIR PROCEDURE:
If the above complaints occur, use the following procedures:
1. Remove air intake connector.
2. Remove radiator grille.
3. Remove upper radiator support.
4. Locate wiring harness for the A/C compressor (this harness runs down along the passenger side of the radiator support just next to the radiator).
5. Remove the three wiring harness clamps.
6. Remove the harness protective covering.
7. Disconnect the A/C compressor connector.
8. Open the harness between the plastic protector mounted on the radiator support and inspect the harness wiring down to the A/C compressor connector.
9. Locate damaged wiring, cut and splice in new harness connector.
Note:
Before October 1991 production, the wiring color on the repair harness will not match the wiring color on the existing harness. The chart will show the correct connections.
10. Shrink the covering around the connectors with a heat gun and wrap with the butyl tape provided.
11. Wrap harness with vinyl electrical tape.
12. Route harness using plastic clamps to connect harness to the low pressure A/C compressor hose.
13. Reinstall radiator support, grille, and air inlet duct. Confirm A/C operation.
