Deceleration Valve: Adjustments

1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Disconnect the idle-up Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) connector.

3. Check idle speed and adjust if necessary.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the Throttle Opener and plug the hose end.

Checking Throttle Opener Setting Speed:

5. Maintain the engine speed at 2500 rpm with the throttle valve.
6. Release the throttle valve.
7. Check the Throttle Opener Setting Speed.

Throttle Opener Setting Speed:
1500 ±300 rpm (w/cooling fan OFF)

8. If the Throttle Opener setting speed is not as specified, replace the throttle body.
9. Reconnect the idle-up VSV connector.
