Auxiliary Air Valve (Idle Speed): Testing and Inspection
The Auxiliary Air Valve Allows Air To Bypass The Throttle Plate:
AUXILIARY AIR VALVE OPERATION INSPECTION
1. Check the engine rpm by closing the air valve port on the throttle body.
At low temp. (Engine coolant temp.: Below 80°C (176°F))
^ When the port is closed, the engine rpm should drop.
After warm-up
^ When the port is closed, check that the engine rpm does not drop more than 100 rpm.
If operation is not as specified. replace the air valve.
REMOVAL
1. Remove Throttle Body
2. Remove Auxiliary Air Valve From Throttle Body
Remove the 4 screws, air valve, gasket and O-ring.
INSTALLATION
1. Install Auxiliary Air Valve To Throttle Body
2. Install Throttle Body
