Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT):

PURPOSE

The intake air temperature sensor determines the temperature of the air entering the engine. The Electronic Control Module (ECM) uses the sensor data to compensate for changes in air density because of temperature changes.
