Testing and Inspection
EGR VALVE INSPECTION:
1. REMOVE EGR VALVE.
- Disconnect the EGR gas temperature sensor connector.
- Disconnect these hoses from the EGR valve:
1. Vacuum hose (from EGR vacuum modulator).
2. EGR hose (from EGR vacuum modulator).
- Loosen the union nut, and remove the 2 bolts, EGR valve and gasket.
2. INSPECT EGR VALVE.
- Check for sticking and heavy carbon deposits.
- If a problem is found, replace the valve.
3. RE-INSTALL EGR VALVE.
- Install a new gasket and the EGR valve with the union nut and 2 bolts.
Torque: Bolt: 19 Nm (19 ft lb)
Union nut: 59 Nm (43 ft lb)
- Connect these hoses to the EGR valve:
1. Vacuum hose (from EGR vacuum modulator).
2. EGR hose (from EGR vacuum modulator).
- Reconnect the EGR gas temperature sensor connector.
