Idle Up Control Valve: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The A/C Idle-Up Valve is a Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) which is used to maintain idle quality during A/C operation.

OPERATION

The solenoid is located in-line with a throttle valve bypass hose. When energized by the engine control module (ECM), air is allowed past the throttle valve, raising the idle speed.
