Detecting Condition
No NE Signal to engine control module within 2 seconds or more after cranking.
or
No G Signal to engine control module for 3 seconds or more with engine speed between 600 rpm and 4,000 rpm.

^ Open or short in NE, G circuit.
^ Distributor assembly.
^ Open or short in STA circuit.
^ Engine Control Module
