Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION A/C UNIT1. Recover refrigerant from refrigeration system.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Evacuate air form refrigeration system.
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount: 850 +/- 50 g (29.98 +/- 1.76 oz.)
2. Drain engine coolant from radiator.
HINT: It is not necessary to drain out all the coolant.
3. Disconnect water valve control cable from water valve.
4. Disconnect water hoses from heater radiator pipes.
5. Remove instrument panel and rein forcement.
6. Remove blower unit.
7. Disconnect liquid and suction tube from block joint. Remove two bolts and both tubes.
Torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
INSTALLATION NOTE: Lubricate the new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
8. Remove rear air ducts. Remove the clip and the air duct.
9. Remove heater protector. Remove the two clips and the heater protector.
10. Remove A/C unit.
a. Disconnect connectors from the unit.
b. Remove the 3 nuts and the A/C unit.
Installation is in reverse order of removal.
