Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION
1. Visually inspect hoses, connections and gaskets. Check for cracks, leaks or damage.
2. Start engine and run at idle.
3. Remove hose from top of Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve.
4. Check for vacuum at hose.
- Reattach hose to valve.
5. Place your finger over the end of the valve.
- Check for a click as the valve springs closed.
- If the valve does not click closed, replace it.
6. Reinstall PCV Valve
