Inspection Procedure

DTC 24 Intake Air Temp. Sensor Circuit

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN TERMINALS THA AND E2 OF ECM CONNECTOR.
- Remove glove compartment.
- Turn ignition switch ON.



- Measure voltage between terminals THA and E2 of ECM connector.

Intake air temperature 20°C (68°F): 0.5 - 3.4 volts.
Intake air temperature 60°C (140°F): 0.2 - 1.0 volts.

- If not OK proceed to step 2.
- If OK check for momentary interruption.

2. CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector.



- Measure resistance between terminals.




Intake air temperature 20°C (68°F): 2 to 3 k ohms.
Intake air temperature 60°C (140°F): 0.4 to 0.7 k ohms.

- If OK proceed to step 3.
- If not OK replace intake air temperature Sensor.

3. CHECK FOR OPEN AND SHORT IN HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECM AND INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- If OK check and replace ECM.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
