Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Service and Repair






REMOVAL OF VSV FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.

CAUTION: Work must not be started for at least 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the Negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK AND GUIDE FOR A/T.



(a) Remove the bolt.
(b) Pull out the dipstick guide together with the dipstick.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.

3. REMOVE VACUUM TANK AND VSV ASSEMBLY.



(a) Remove the 2 nuts, and disconnect the vacuum tank from the intake manifold.
(b) Disconnect the following connector and hoses, and remove the vacuum tank and VSV assembly:



(1) VSV connector
(2) Vacuum hose (to air intake chamber) from port B of vacuum tank
(3) Vacuum hose (to actuator) from VSV

4. REMOVE VSV FROM VACUUM TANK.



(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose from port F of the VSV.
(b) Remove the screw and VSV.


INSTALLATION OF VSV FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM
1. INSTALL VSV TO VACUUM TANK.



(a) Install the VSV with the screw.
(b) Connect the vacuum hose to port F of the VSV.

2. INSTALL VACUUM TANK AND VSV ASSEMBLY.
(a) Connect the following connector and hoses:



(1) VSV connector
(2) Vacuum hose (from air intake chamber) to port B of vacuum tank
(3) Vacuum hose (from actuator) to VSV



(b) Install the vacuum and VSV assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft.lb)

3. INSTALL OIL DIPSTICK AND GUIDE FOR A/T.



(a) Install a new O-ring on the dipstick guide.
(b) Apply soapy water on the O-ring.
(c) Connect the dipstick guide end to the oil pan.
(d) Install the dipstick and guide with the bolt.

4. RECONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
