Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Remove screws and/or bolt retaining sensor wiring harness, if necessary. Disconnect speed sensor connector at speed sensor.
2. Measure resistance between terminals. Resistance should be 800-1300 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
3. Ensure there is no continuity between each terminal and sensor body. If there is continuity, replace sensor.
4. Connect speed sensor connector and install sensor connector retaining screws and/or bolts.
5. Ensure sensor installation bolt is secure and torqued to specification. Torque to 9 ft. lbs.
6. Visually inspect sensor rotor serrations by removing torque plate retaining bolts and torque plate with brake cylinder, then the disc.
7. Inspect sensor rotor serrations for scratches, cracks, warping or missing teeth.
8. Install rotor disc and brake assembly. Torque bolts to 69 ft. lbs.
