Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS):

The TP Sensor is mounted on the throttle valve body and sends a varying voltage signal to the ECM based on throttle valve position. The ECM can then adjust fuel delivery based on acceleration, deceleration, wide open throttle (WOT) or idle. The TP Sensor inputs the ECM through terminal VTA.
