Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

- Inspect Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.

Idle Up Solenoid Inspection - Checking Continuity:

- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.

Resistance (Cold): 37 - 44 ohms

- If there is no continuity. replace the VSV.

Idle Up Solenoid Inspection - Checking For Short:

- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and body.
- If there is continuity, replace the VSV.

Idle Up Solenoid Inspection - Checking Operation:

- Check that air does not flow from pipes E to F.

Idle Up Solenoid Inspection - Checking Operation:

- Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
- Check that are flows from pipes E to F.
- If operation is not as specified, replace the VSV.
